Love for a Lifetime

The Alliance Defense Fund Salutes ADF Co-Founder Dr. James and Shirley Dobson on their 50th wedding anniversary
Fifty years ago, Shirley Deere walked down the aisle to say “I do” to James Dobson. It was the beginning of a beautiful love story – a story that has modeled God’s intent for marriage to untold millions of couples.
Over the years, Christian couples have walked with the Dobsons through the various seasons of life: the birth of a child and adoption of a second; the empty nest as those two children grew up and left the home; to health challenges; and now grandparenting and the launch of a new ministry, Family Talk to continue reaching families for Christ. And through it all, Jim and Shirley have never wavered in their love and commitment to each other and to the principles that made their marriage a shining light to the world.
So, on this 50th celebration of that August day that truly resulted in a “love for a lifetime,” the entire Alliance Defense Fund team wishes our co-founder, Dr. James Dobson, and his beautiful bride, Shirley, a very “Happy Anniversary.” May the love that they have shown for each other continue to be an inspiration to us all in the years ahead.
